गुणरूप — समास 1: आशंका

निराकार म्हणिजे काये। निराधार म्हणिजे काये । निर्विकार म्हणिजे काये । मज निरोपावें ॥ १ ॥

निराकार, निराधार, निर्विकार म्हणजे काय तें मला सांगावें.

"Formless means what? Support-less means what? Thoughtless means what? I want to understand that non-dual discourse."

निराकार म्हणिजे आकार नाहीं । निराधार म्हणिजे आधार नाहीं । निर्विकार म्हणिजे कल्पना नाहीं । परब्रह्मासी ॥ २ ॥

परब्रह्माला आकार नाहीं, आधार नाहीं. त्याच्या ठिकाणी कल्पना नाहीं.

Formless means no form? Support-less means no support. Thoughtless means there is no thought or concept, and that is parabrahman.

निरामय म्हनिजे काये । निराभास म्हणिजे काये । निरावेव म्हणिजे काये । मज निरोपावें ॥ ३ ॥

निरामय, निराभास, निरावेव म्हणजे काय तें मला सांगावें.

"niramaya means what? Without appearance means what? Without parts means what? To this `me', there should be that discourse."

निरामय म्हनिजे जळमये नाहीं । निराभास म्हणिजे भासचि नाहीं । निरावेव म्हणिजे अवेव नाहीं । परब्रह्मासी ॥ ४ ॥

आमय म्हणजे रोग, नाश किंवा विकार. रोग हा पिंडाचा विकार तर प्रलयकालीं जलमय होणें हा ब्रह्मांडाचा विकार होय. परब्रह्माला सृष्टीच्या शेवटीं व आधीं हा विकार बाधत नाहीं. म्हणून तें निरामय आहे. परब्रह्माच्या ठिकाणीं भास नाहीं. त्यास आकार नाहीं. म्हणून अवयव नाहींत.

niramaya means there is no objectification. Without appearance means it has no ap- pearance and without parts means, there are no parts to parabrahman.

निःप्रपंच म्हणिजे काये । निःकळंक म्हणिजे काये । निरोपाधी न्हणिजे काये । मज निरोपावें ॥ ५ ॥

निःप्रपंच, निःकलंक, निरुपाधि म्हणजे काय तें मला सांगावें.

"Without prapanch means what? Without stain means what? Without upadhi means what? To this `me', there should be that non-dual discourse."

निःप्रपंच म्हणिजे प्रपंच नाहीं । निःकळंक म्हणिजे कळंक नाहीं । निरोपाधी म्हणिजे उपाधी नाहीं । परब्रह्मासी ॥ ६ ॥

परब्रह्माला संसार नाहीं. कसलाही कलंक नाहीं. व कोणतीही उपाधी किंवा मर्यादा नाहीं.

Without prapanch means there are no five elements. Without stain means there is no stain and without limiting concepts means there are no limiting concepts to pa- rabrahman.

निरोपम्य म्हणिजे काये । निरालंब म्हणिजे काये । निरापेक्षा म्हणिजे काये । मज निरोपावें ॥ ७ ॥

निरुपम, निरालंब, निरपेक्ष म्हणजे काय तें मला सांगावें.

"Without comparison means what? Without support means what? Without expectation means what? To this `me', there should be that discourse."

निरोपम्य म्हणिजे उपमा नाहीं । निरालंब म्हणिजे अवलंब नाही । निरापेक्षा म्हणिजे अपेक्षा नाहीं । परब्रह्मासी ॥ ८ ॥

परब्रह्माला उपमा नाहीं. तें कशावर अवलंबून नाहीं. त्याला कशाची अपेक्षा नाही.

Without comparison means it has no equal. Without support means it does not grasp for support. Without expectation means there is no expectation, to parabrahman.

निरंजन म्हणिजे काये । निरंतर म्हणिजे काये। निर्गुण म्हणिजे काये । मज निरोपावें ॥ ९ ॥

निरंजन, निरंतर, निर्गुण म्हणजे काय तें मला सांगावें.

"niranjan means what? nirantar means what? nirgun means what? That should be discoursed to me."

निरंजन म्हणिजे जनचि नाहीं । निरंतर म्हणिजे अंतर नाहीं । निर्गुण म्हणिजे गुणचि नाहीं । परब्रह्मासी ॥ १० ॥

परब्रह्मास प्राणीमात्रांचा संसर्कनाही. परब्रह्मामध्यें अवकाश किंवा मोकळी जागा नाहीं. तें सगळीकडे सारखें भरलेलें आहे. त्याला गुण नाहीत.

niranjan means there is no mind or world of knowledge. nirantar means there is no inner space (of `I am'). nirgun means there are no gunas in parabrahman.

निःसंग म्हणिजे काये । निर्मळ म्हणिजे काये । निश्र्चळ म्हणिजे काये । मज निरोपावें ॥ ११ ॥

निःसंग, निर्मळ, निश्र्चळ म्हणजे काय तें मला सांगावें.

"nisanga means what? nirmala means what? nishchala means what? To me, there should be that discourse."

निःसंग म्हणिजे संगचि नाहीं । निर्मळ म्हणिजे मळचि नाहीं । निश्र्चळ म्हणिजे चळण नाहीं । परब्रह्मासी ॥ १२ ॥

परब्रह्मास आसक्ती नाहीम. कसलाही मल नाही. त्याला स्वस्थितीपासून चळण नाहीं.

nisanga means there is no attachment. nirmala means there is no dirt. nishchala/ still means there is no movement, to that parabrahman.

निःशब्द म्हणिजे काये । निर्दोष म्हणिजे काये । निवृत्ती म्हणिजे काये । मज निरोपावरं ॥ १३ ॥

निःशब्द, निर्दोष, निर्वृत्ति म्हणजे काय तें मला सांगावें.

"Without word means what? Without fault means what? nivritti means what? To me, there should be that discourse."

निशब्द म्हणिजे शब्दचि नाहीं । निर्दोष म्हणिजे दोषची नाहीं । निःवृत्ती म्हणिजे वृत्तिच नाहीं । परब्रह्मासी ॥ १४ ॥

परब्रह्माच्या ठिकाणीं शब्दाला किंवा भाषेला वाव नाहीं. कोणताही दोष नाही. कोणतीही वृत्ती नाही.

Without word means that not even this original word (`I am') is there. Without fault/ni- radosha means there is no body there (dosha- fault or constituent of body). nivritti means not even this knowing vritti is there in parabrahman.

निःकाम म्हणिजे काये । निर्लेप म्हणिजे काये । निःकर्म म्हणिजे काये । मज निरोपावें ॥ १५ ॥

निःकाम, निर्लेप, निहकर्म म्हणजे काय तें मला सांगावें.

"Without desire means what? Without touching means what? Without karma means what? To me, there should be that discourse."

निःकाम म्हणिजे कामचि नाहीं । निर्लेप म्हणिजे लेपचि नाहीं । निःकर्म म्हणिजे कर्मचि नाहीं । परब्रह्मासी ॥ १६ ॥

परब्रह्माला कोणतीही इच्छा नाहीं. त्याला कांहीं चिकटत नाहीं. त्याच्या ठिकाणीं कोणतेही कर्म नाहीं.

Without desire means there is no desire at all. Without touching means it does not take the touch. Without karma means there is no karma (ie. action, destiny), to that parabrahman.

अनाम्य म्हणिजे काये । अजन्मा म्हणिजे काये । अप्रत्यक्ष म्हणिजे काये । मज निरोपावें ॥ १७ ॥

अनामा, आजन्मा, अप्रत्यक्ष म्हणजे काय तें मला सांगावें.

"Without name means what? Without birth means what? Without sensory perception means what? To me, there should be that discourse."

आनाम्य म्हणिजे नामचि नाहीं । अजन्मा म्हणिजे जन्मचि नाहीं । अप्रत्यक्ष म्हणिजे प्रत्यक्ष नाहीं । परब्रह्म तें ॥ १८ ॥

परब्रह्मास कांहीं नाव नाही. कारण त्यास रुप नाहीं. त्यास जन्म नाहीं. परब्रह्म इंद्रियांना गोचर नाहीं.

Without name means there is no name there. Without birth means, it is not born and without sensory perception means that parabrahman does not perceive through sensory organs.

अगणीत म्हणिजे काये । अकर्तव्य म्हणिजे काये । अक्षै म्हणिजे काये । मज निरोपावें ॥ १९ ॥

अगणित, अकर्तव्य, अक्षय म्हणजे काय तें मला सांगावें.

"Uncountable means what? Without duty means what? Without destruction means what? To me, there should be that discourse."

अगणीत म्हणिजे गणीत नाहीं । अकर्तव्य म्हणिजे कर्तव्यता नाहीं । अक्षै म्हणिजे क्षयचि नाहीं । परब्रह्मासी ॥ २० ॥

परब्रह्माचे मोजमाप करतां येत नाही. तें नीतिअनीतीच्या पलीकडे आहे. त्यास कधींच झीज नाहीं.

Uncountable means, that cannot be counted or measured. Without duty means, it has no duty (or, nothing needs to be done). Without destruction means that parabrahman cannot be destroyed.

अरुप म्हणिजे काये । अलक्ष म्हणिजे काये । अनंत म्हणिजे काये । मज निरोपावें ॥ २१ ॥

अरुप, अलक्ष्य, अनंत म्हणजे काय तें मला सांगावें.

"Without form or shape means what? Imperceptible means what? ananta/ not ending means what? To me, there should be that discourse."

अरुप म्हणिजे रुपचि नाहीं । अलक्ष म्हणिजे लक्षत नाहीं । अनंत म्हणिजे अंतचि नाहीं । परब्रह्मासी ॥ २२ ॥

परब्रह्मास कोणतेंच रुप नाहीं. तें मनाला आकलन होत नाहीं. त्यास कधीं अंत नाहीं.

Without form or shape means it has no form whatsoever. Imperceptible means there is no attention of any kind there. ananta means that parabrahman has no end.

अपार म्हणिजे काये । अढळ म्हणिजे काये । अतर्क्ये म्हणिजे काये । मज निरोपावें ॥ २३ ॥

अपार, अधळ, अतर्क्य म्हणजे काय तें मला सांगावें.

"Limitless means what? Immovable means what? Without inference means what? To me, there should be that discourse."

अपार म्हणिजे पारचि नाहीं । अधळ म्हणिजे ढळचि नाहीं । अतर्क्ये म्हणिजे तर्कत नाहीं । परब्रह्म तें ॥ २४ ॥

परब्रह्म अमर्याद आहे. त्याचा परतीर गाठंता येत नाही. परब्रह्म आपल्या स्थानापासून कधींच ढळत नाहीं. भ्रष्ट होत नाहीं. बुद्धीला त्याच्या स्वरुपाबद्दल कल्पना करतां येत नाहीं.

Limitless means it has no limit. Immovable means it does not move and without infe- rence means that parabrahman cannot be inferred or deduced.

अद्वैत म्हणिजे काये । अदृश्य म्हणिजे काये । अच्युत म्हणिजे काये । मज निरोपावें ॥ २५ ॥

अद्वैत, अदृश्य, अच्युत म्हणजे काय तें मला सांगावें.

"Non-dual means what? Not visible means what? Not changing means what? To me, there should be that discourse."

अद्वैत म्हणिजे द्वैतचि नाहीं । अदृश्य म्हणिजे दृश्यचि नाहीं । अच्युत म्हणिजे चेवत नाहीं । परब्रह्म तें ॥ २६ ॥

परब्रह्म अगदी एकच एकआहे. तेथें दुसरें कांहीं नाहीं. परब्रह्म अतिंद्रिय आहे. इंद्रियांना कधीं गोचर होत नाहीं. तसेंच तें स्वस्थानापासून कधींही खाली घसरत नाहीं.

Non-dual means there is no duality. Not visible means it cannot be seen. Not changing means it is fixed and steady, and that is parabrahman.

अछेद म्हणिजे काये । अदाह्य म्हणिजे कये । अक्लेद म्हणिजे काये । मज निरोपावें ॥ २७ ॥

अच्छेद, अदाह्य, अक्लेद्य म्हणजे काय तें मला सांगावें.

"Non-breakable means what? Non-inflammable means what? Un-mixed means what? To me, there should be that discourse."

अछेद म्हणिजे छेदेना । अदाह्य म्हणिजे जळेना । अक्लेद म्हणिजे कालवेना । परब्रह्म तें ॥ २८ ॥

परब्रह्माला तोडता येत नाहीं. तें जळत नाहीं. तें भिजत नाहीं.

Non-breakable means it cannot be divided or broken. Non-inflammable means it cannot be burnt. Un-mixed means that parabrahman has not mixed with anything else.

परब्रह्म म्हणिजे सकळांपरतें । तपास पाहातां आपणचि तें । हें कळें अनुभवमतें । सद्गुरु केलियां ॥ २९ ॥

सांगण्याचें तात्पर्य असें कीं, परब्रह्म सार्‍या दृश्य विश्र्वाच्या पलीकडे आहे. त्याच्यासारखें तेंच आहे. दुसरें काहींहीं त्याच्यासारखें नाही. सद्गुरुची संगत केल्यानें अनुभव येतो. आणि मग परब्रह्माचें स्वरुप समजते.

parabrahman means beyond this `all' or `I am'. When you understand that Reality then, you become that Reality. That thoughtless Reality can be realized through the teaching of sadguru when first you understand this `I am' experience. .
